The cut lime has been edited to change the colour of the juicy interior.

Blue tits nest in holes in a tree or wall or any other suitable structure. The nest is a cup made by the female from moss, wool, dead leaves, spiders' webs, and lined with down. Blue tit have a large clutch, typically 10 to 12 eggs which are laid at a time when green caterpillars are abundant.

The reason that I was at Hollycroft park taking pictures of ladies bowling is that the park was holding a photography competition. The brief for the competition was wide in that any photograph taken in the park this year would qualify. As I have long associated the park with it's bowling green it seemed a reasonable subject on which to concentrate.

I am delighted to say that this picture not only qualified but it won the competition.

I was in a Hinckley's Hollycroft park taking pictures of ladies bowling when I happened to notice this fellow spectator. Both gentleman and dog were closely watching the action on the green.

A very obliging garden bird the Blue tit needs only a little encouragement in the way of seeds or nuts to visit for a while.
