![]() Coloured smoke art : River deep | The smoke art collection These are pictures of smoke from a burning incense stick. Most smoke appears grey to the naked eye but there is more in a plume of smoke than we see at first glance. For this type of smoke art photo it is necessary to make adjustments in the digital darkroom to allow the natural beauty of the smoke to be revealed. By post processing the image and adjusting such variables as saturation, contrast and any other setting that seems fitting to the artist, a richer vision of smoke can be created. This is a reflection of over 7 years photographing smoke. I started experimenting with coloured smoke in 2003. By early 2007 my smoke art collection received a lot of interest in the blogging world to the extent that now one could say that smoke art is a small but growing photographic genre. | |
