![]() Smoke art : A smoke kaleidoscope | The smoke wheels collection Smoke wheels are made by repeating and overlaying one or more plumes of smoke to give a complex and detailed design. Some of the wheels are perfectly symmetrical while others have subtle shifts that tease the eye. The key to creating an attractive design is to select a suitable source plume, unfortunately the only selection method I have found to work is called trial and error. Smoke from the right type of source (usually incense sticks) is subtly coloured. In some smoke pictures the naturally occurring colours have been enhanced, in others the colours have been completely changed in post processing. It is easy to get hooked on creating smoke wheels, they are a specific type of abstract, an extension to the smoke art pictures found in a separate gallery. A great rainy day distraction.
